Campaigns

Communities 4 Children (C4C) organizes donation campaigns to benefit children in need, primarily children in foster care.

C4C relies on community support to donate needed items and fund these campaigns. All donations go directly to families and children in Georgia.

Additionally, C4C provides professional support for programs serving children in need and their families. Through consulting services, program management, professional development, and technology solutions, C4C provides innovative, efficient and effective solutions. C4C capitalizes on the experience of Care Solutions, Inc., a private management consulting firm affiliated with C4C to provide these services.

Christmas Stocking Program

In any given month, there are more than 11,000 children and youth in foster care in Georgia. Some are in care due to abuse or neglect. Others come from families who are unable to care for them due to poverty, illness, or crisis.

In 2009, Communities 4 Children launched its Holiday Stocking Program. In its first year, the program provided Christmas stockings for 100 children in Georgia's foster care system. The Holiday Stocking Campaign continues to be a success each year.  As our community of supporters grows, we  strive to ensure we are truly making the holidays special for children in foster care.

In 2021, Communities 4 Children provided stockings for 146 children, 127 of whom were over the age of 12. Teenagers, particularly those in foster care, can be difficult to shop for during the holidays. We are excited that we were able to do so and reach so many with meaningful gifts and messages of love this year. This program is only made possible by the generosity of friends, family, and the community.

Back-to-school Campaign

C4C firmly believes in the critical role education plays in allowing children and youth to access opportunities for success. Our Back-to-School campaign ensures school-aged children can start the academic year off right. In 2021, C4C worked with the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) in Atlanta to provide 100 children between the 1st and 12th grades with backpacks filled with school supplies.

With all our campaigns, we strive to purchase quality materials that the children can be proud of. We have found that being able to spend a little extra on good school supplies, such as fun yet sturdy backpacks, can let these children know they are loved and valued.

Take a look at the supplies included in each backpack for our 2020 campaign here!

Scholarships

Communities 4 Children awards merit and need-based scholarships and mini-grants designed to help meet the educational needs of children and youth in foster care who have set their sights beyond completing high school. Since 2016, Communities 4 Children has awarded nine scholarships to deserving high school graduates who were in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS).
