Communities 4 Children (C4C) organizes donation campaigns to benefit children in need, primarily children in foster care.
C4C relies on community support to donate needed items and fund these campaigns. All donations go directly to families and children in Georgia.
Additionally, C4C provides professional support for programs serving children in need and their families. Through consulting services, program management, professional development, and technology solutions, C4C provides innovative, efficient and effective solutions. C4C capitalizes on the experience of Care Solutions, Inc., a private management consulting firm affiliated with C4C to provide these services.
As of July 2020, there were more than 11,000 children and youth in foster care in Georgia. Some are in care due to abuse or neglect. Others come from families who are unable to care for them due to poverty, illness, or crisis.
In 2009, Communities 4 Children launched its Christmas Stocking Program. In its first year, the program provided Christmas stockings for 100 children in Georgia's foster care system. Since then, the program has grown to provide more than 200 stockings to children and youth in foster care, former foster youth who are now parents, and other families involved in the child welfare system. This program is only made possible by the generosity of friends, family, and the community.
Many students in North Fulton are in need of backpacks and school supplies. Without these items, their education can suffer and fall behind.
Communities 4 Children, in partnership with Care Solutions Inc., donates backpacks to North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) "Back to School" summer event, in honor of a former colleague and friend Linda Schmidt for her birthday.
NFCC prepares a "store-like" setup where registered families in need can choose backpacks filled with school supplies. Many of the backpacks are given to elementary or middle school-aged children, some in foster families or where grandparents are raising the children.
Through our combined efforts, more than one hundred backpacks are collected each year, allowing children to start their year off right.

Communities 4 Children awards merit and need-based scholarships and mini-grants designed to help meet the educational needs of children and youth in foster care who have set their sights beyond completing high school. Since 2016, Communities 4 Children has awarded nine scholarships to deserving high school graduates who were in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS).
